Gait Analysis

Walking is the body's natural means of moving from one location to the other. Efficient walking and running depends on free joint mobility and appropriate recruitment and timing of muscle activity. Any dysfunction is likely to cause compensation in the joints and soft tissues above and/or below the area leading to an altered and less efficient system.

Using a treadmill and video camera, it is possible for the therapist to analyse the patient's dynamic posture whilst walking and running, thus identifying areas of dysfunction.

The key to accurate diagnosis is established by gaining an understanding of the locomotory system and associated joints.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is gaining increasing status in the musculoskeletal world as evidence in favour of this unique treatment amounts.

Western acupuncture involves dry needling tight and dysfunctional tissues. Trigger point release and intra muscular stimulation will decrease pain, release tight tissues and promote healing. There are few adverse reactions to acupuncture.

All treating clinicians at ProPhysio UK have undergone full and extensive training in acupuncture. This form of treatment works exceptionally well either as a treatment strategy on its own or as an adjunct to manual therapy and rehabilitation.
